Pewag VKK10x35 Security Chain
Certified to Sold Secure Bicycle Gold standard, the Pewag VKK10x35 is the smaller and lighter weight option to the VKK12x45 and VKK14x52 chains. The chain is manufactured to the same high quality standards as it's bigger brothers and is produced using the same materials and production techniques, all of which ensures maximum toughness for it's size. Inevitably the reduction in physical size results in a lower level of security when compared to the VKK12x45 or VKK14x52 variants but this chain may be more suitable if a lighter weight option is required. VKK10x35 weighs just 2.1kg per metre.
Pewag VKK12x45 Security Chain
Certified to Sold Secure Motorcycle Gold standard, the Pewag VKK12x45 security chain (sometimes referred to as Pewag #3012) is manufactured to the highest possible quality standards and is used extensively for the securing of bicycles, motorcycles and property. Pewag VKK12x45 chain offers an unbeatable blend of tensile strength and toughness made possible because of the clever combination of material alloy composition and careful heat treatment processes which results in the ideal core and surface hardness values.
The chain is produced with a bright silver electro plated finish which has now replaced the more commonly seen black untreated finish known as USA part code #3012. The black chain was phased out and replaced with the silver electro plated version as this adds a level of corrosion resistance that was lacking on the untreated black chain. #3012 security chain (now referred to in the UK as VKK12X45) was originally produced by Pewag for the American market and can be seen being tested in the following videos by Wayne Winton of Tri County Locksmith Services. This chain weight 3.4kg per metre.

Pewag VKK14x52 MAXIMUM Security Chain
Certified to Sold Secure Motorcycle Gold standard, the Pewag VKK14x52 is the largest and toughest of the Pewag VKK range of security chains and provides maximum levels of resistance against bolt cropping, hacksawing and freezing. The increased diameter of the material also makes the chain more difficult and time consuming to cut with an angle grinder. It's manufactured to the highest possible quality standards equal to the VKK10 and VKK12 variants and is produced using the same material compositions and production techniques, all of which ensures that this chain possesses the highest level of security available for it's size. VKK14x52 weighs 4.5kg per metre.
